Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Honors Forbes ![]() ![]() ![]() Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce Honors Forbes ![]() ![]() "Standing up for our region's job creators and providing them with a strong voice in Congress has always been a top priority of mine," said Forbes. "These are the men and women who get up early and go home late – without fanfare or lights or cameras – in order to spend every day serving clients, growing their companies, building our roads and bridges, repairing ships, recharging our economy, and creating jobs. Working to empower them and get Washington out of their way is an honor." The Chamber's prestigious "Spirit of Enterprise" Award is awarded annually to lawmakers based on their voting record on key pro-growth, pro-business legislation. Forbes is one of the most senior members of the House Armed Services Committee and chairs the Subcommittee that oversees critical Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force programs that represent a major lifeblood of the Hampton Roads economy. He has been endorsed by more than 120 of the most well-known business leaders at some of the largest and most established regional employers across the Second Congressional District, including influential executives ranging from defense, engineering, and maritime industries to ports, shipping, and transportation companies. Congressman Forbes has also been named "Guardian of Small Business" by the National Federation of Independent Businesses and "Hero of Main Street" by the National Retail Federation for his work to recharge the economy and empower local businesses. # # # |
